I just registered my last day of writing in november. And I'm so happy I managed to write at least 300 words every single day! That means my mini-nano-count is at 9540 words for november. It's not all one story, but it's words written down! In addition to rl. So, I'm feeling pretty acclomplished and proud of myself!

I'm thinking about taking part in

fandomtrees . Problem is, I'd have to clarify thinks I'd like, that have a hope of getting filled, Also, doing things in return, as I'd feel bad for getting something and not giving anything. But I think I will take part. But maybe wait to sign up until november is over. Because currently I'm:
- trying to write 300 words every day (in november) - so far I've managed it
- tidying up my flat that's a bit gone because I was busy doing a baking orgy the last almost three weeks
- redecorating the flat from autumn/fall to winter/Christmas motives
- making an advent wreath. Or at least, decorating the wreath, as I did buy two pine-wreaths for that purpose.
So, yeah. Maybe anyone else would like to sign up? I think it's a neat idea.

First, a happy new year to everyone! I hope this one is going to be better than last year!

To being able to go out again in the not-too-distant-future, to restaurants, theatres, concerts, conventions and community sports again.
I'm not a person who needs lots of stimulation or going out, but not going for my weekly swim, no theatre at all this summer, no skiing now I actually can somewhat ski (as of roughly four years ago) and we actually have snow here (contrary to last year) is even getting to me.

On the writing front: I had hoped to post the final chapter of my SK Kölsch fanfiction by now, but it still sucks, so I'm still reworking it. I hope to get it done soon anyway.
But since I made a gif, here's a "so glad you're not dead/so glad I'm not dead"-hug of those two idiots:

I've decided to do a mini-writing month, and have joined the community mini-wrimo on LJ. You can set your own daily goal, minimum 100 words, and I signed up and chose the minimum (it's possible to to this even after the start of november).

I'm planning to do the majority of the writing I will do on my Thorsten/Sebastian fake relationship AU, and hope I've sorted out my trouble with how to do it. As the standard trope of "they have never even considered it" is a bit stupid for a couple who flirted like anything in their earlier episodes at least, including one having his partner put the ring back on his finger after an assignment (his other arm was hurt) all the while quipping "Til death do us part!".
So, last year I did sign up for 100 words each day, and managed to do it. 100 words doesn't sound like much, and it really isn't. But the thing is - for me, I commit to really writing them every day in November. No excuses. No "I'll count the extra from the day before", and no "I'll just do it tomorrow as an extra". It's not "3000 words in November". It's "at least 100 words each and every day in November". Last year, that got me to 11636 words written in November.

I've decided to do the same thing for november as last year: Write at least 100 words every day. But that really means every day. I think I'm not far enough plot-wise in any of my potential stories to have even the slightest chance of writing 50000 words in a month, and I know that setting myself up for almost certain failure is no motivation at all. 100 words a day is doable, even on a very busy day. On better days, I expect that I'll be writing a good deal more than that, but getting over the starting block is the thing that's most important to me.
Especially since writing-wise I'm actually oscillating between multiple stories, and additionally november is the time for baking Christmas cookies. After all they have to be ready for november 29th. And there will be lots of cookies, which takes quite a bit of time.

I'm reading two books about writing.
I think I'm okay with stories that are short and sweet, but anything longer tends to fizzle out. Since I have no idea about story structure or literature theory, I've read up about it.
One book, "The heroine's journey", was very helpful to me. It was especially useful to understand why I gave up on other books, which tried to explain how to write the stereotypical "Hero's journey". The fact is, I don't like this kind of story. "Increasingly isolated hero wins on his own" is just not something I like for more than a bit of entertainment.
Instead, the "Heroine's journey" contrasts this with a plot where the hero gets increasingly networked and connected, and wins the day by bringing people together, finding compromises and working as a team. Which sounds much more like my cup of tea. Important is that the hero/heroine in the names pertains to traditional gender associations, and not to the sex of the hero.
The other book I'm reading is "Saves the Cat! Writes a novel." about story structure and beats. It is interesting and provides food for thought.

This food for thought in turn melted with different story ideas. Especially, I'm thinking about my "lesbian warrior princesses" story, and fleshing it out and plotting it. And thinking about starting NaNoWriMo with it. As a real challenge. Or whether I'll do the same thing I did last year: A mini-Nano, where I just write a 100 words minimum, each and every day in November. This target was very helpful to me last year, and 50000 words in November sounds very, very daunting.
Especially since I plan to take part in the Tatort advent calendar, which means at least one other story that has to be written and maybe edited in November (leaving a bit of time for me between writing and posting to better check it over.)

Well, there's still time to think about it.
